In December 2022, I lived in Australia with my husband and 3 month old baby while all my immediate family were moving to England. During the weeks following my family’s departure, I was feeling lonely and unmotivated, lacking my usual joy toward life.
I opened my journal and began drawing simple pictures showing how I was feeling – knots symbolising feeling stuck and sharp edges symbolising sadness toward by family going. On the page beside, I drew how I aspired to feel: a river symbolised refreshment, milky colours and ocean waves symbolised smooth ease in daily life… *CONTINUED IN E-BOOK*
…As I diagrammed my life in my journal, I felt as though I was uncovering hidden parts of my mind and uncovering what was draining me the most.
